I live in a subdivision called Hillcrest which turned out to be a good thing. No matter where you live in my city the inlets, rivers, and bayous are all around so everyone lives within a mile of water. Hillcrest Road wraps around me and many of those homes were flooded but I live on a cul-de-sac at apparently the highest point so neither I nor my neighbors received any damage from rising water.

A lot of debris washed into my yard. So the floodwaters came close!

I had a little water blow into my garage around the garage door. The waterline on the box shows osmosis, NOT the height of the water. I doubt it was even a half inch deep.

Much of the fence was blown down. This was a strange hurricane in that it didn't have that much rain attached. Notice that my pool isn't even full! Obviously the flood waters didn't get to it and there wasn't enough rain to raise it more than eight inches.

The wind was bad enough in my part of the city that it knocked fences over and if you look in the distance you can see where it stripped my neighbor's roof free of shingles.
All-in-all I feel pretty darn lucky. Which was good because if my parents couldn't stay with me it would be a real problem trying to rebuild their place.
