- The Purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the
fundamentals of the business function known as Marketing.
Additional goals include introducing students to the standards
expected of and by managerial personnel in the workplace.
- Cheating will not be tolerated. All work MUST be your
own or your group's. Check with me PRIOR to accepting outside
assistance. University policy states:
When cheating is discovered, the faculty member may give the
student an F on the work involved or in the course. If further
disciplinary action is deemed appropriate, the student should be
reported to the Academic Dean. In addition to being a violation
of academic honesty, cheating violates the Code of Student Conduct
and may be grounds for probation, suspension, and/or expulsion.
Students on disciplinary suspension may not enroll in any courses
offered by the University of Southern Mississippi. (2003-2004
Gulf Coast Guide pp.44)
- All students are expected to be prepared to discuss the
reading assignment PRIOR to entering class on a given day.
Homework will be given each week on the current reading
assignment, except for Exam weeks. There will be no makeups given
on this homework.

- It is the responsibility of each student to determine that he
or she is appropriately enrolled in each course. Students are
expected to confirm their registration in the selected courses
prior to the conclusion of the university add/drop period. The
College of Business and Economic Development strictly enforces the
add/drop policies of the University of Southern Mississippi.
Thus, students should not request to add classes or drop classes
after the official dates determined by the university. Students
should expect such late requests to be routinely denied.
- The last day to drop this (or any) course without Academic
Penalty is Tuesday, Feb 17, 2004. However, you must drop within
the first 10 days of class to have your money refunded. You can
drop a class thru SOAR but you must go to the Administration Bldg
to withdraw from all classes since you are technically withdrawing
from USM.
- The instructor reserves the right throughout the course of
instruction to make any adjustments to the syllabus deemed
necessary to facilitate the educational process.
